Afro Brazilian Dance and Samba are based on sacred, grounded and physically joyous movements.
In the spirit of carnival, this 90 minute dance workshop will introduce, and then immerse you in the infectiously joyous movements and music from Brazil.
The focus will be on sharp and dynamic dance movements to live drumming, interpreting the music and learning short choreographies.
Everyone is welcome – from absolute beginners to experienced dancers and moves are tailored to suit participants. Be prepared to smile and sweat!
Taught by Susie Smith. Susie specialises in the African and traditional foundations of Latin dance. Her classes are infectiously happy, energetic, and positive… and sometimes a little silly. She adores holding a space for students to find their love and connection to their own dancing body, in their own way, whilst respecting and learning the traditions which the movements came from.
